Are you a Barents Builder?
A new and youth adapted project is soon to be implemented. Barents Builders is an education based on distant studies and three workshops. The goal is to let young people in the region learn and experience different methods for development and realization of projects. There is a need for young creative entrepreneurs to participate in a positive development of the Barents Region. It is important that young people from the different countries in the region experience the value of learning about each other and exchange and acquire knowledge together.
There will be three separate workshops during Barents Builders. These will follow the development from idea, to accomplished projects and through to evaluation and development of new ones. Along the way there will be professional assistance from project managers educated from the Chaos Pilots and the Tvibit youth centre. The first workshop will be in Tromsø the 20th – 22th of November 2009. The second one will be in Murmansk in February/March 2010. The last will be in connection to an event in Russia during October/November 2010. As a participant you must commit to all three workshops.
Through Barents Builders you will have the opportunity to
- Develop ideas and knowledge about the Barents Region
- Receive guidance from professional project managers
- Travel to either Russia and Norway
- Develop language- and culture understanding
- Build networks
- Gain tools and skills to develop and accomplish your own project
Participant profile
- You are between the age of 18 and 25
- You live in the Barents Region
- You communicate well in English
- You are enthusiastic and responsible
- You are willing to commit to the Barents Builders programme
- You would like to contributing to a positive development
- You would like to learn and experience something new and exciting
- You are eager to participate in a practical project
