Barents Children and Youth Cycling Tour 2008

The Barents Cycling Tour has been annually arranged since 2000. The tour is a project to learn children and youths about ways of living in each country, and appreciate the variety and differences the countries provide. Contact with locals is intended to contribute to understanding of business, culture and private matters. The main focus will be on the “people-to-people” acquaintance.

The total distance will cover approximately 4400 kilometres, each lap in average consisting of 105 km. There will be cultural programs on each stop and visits to different companies in order to learn about business, work and social conditions in the Barents Region.  

The tour will take place 17^th of June to 6^th of August. Local cycle groups are welcome to participate in laps. The tour aims at strengthen the knowledge of “people-to-people” cooperation across the borders in the Barents Region.
