Last weekend, 4-5 April, Barents Regional Youth Council (BRYC) gathered in Tromsø on the annual meeting to discuss the working plan for the 2014. It was decided to make a big annual event in Tromsø in the early November, the more detailed information will be in the middle summer, so be ready to apply for this great “union” of nations.

Together with new members from Arkhangelsk, Nenets and Finnmark the new BRYC Chairperson was elected - Sunna Kokkonen (Lapland, Finland) and deputy chair – Olga Egorova (indigenous representative, Russia).

BRYC participated in the great sport event – Barents Winter Games, Eirik Mofoss gave a speech at the opening, where the youngest Barents residents keep on what BRYC is.

Now BRYC is collecting applications from volunteers for the Chess Olympiad, 1-14 August, Tromsø, here is the link for the upcoming event facebook.com/Norway2014/info.

The main goal for the 2014 will be close connection with the local authorities and focus on the civil society development in the Barents region. BRYC is eager to cooperate more with the Joint Working Group on Youth Issues.
