Do you like dancing? Playing? Meeting other young people? Well then, BarentsUngdom is just what you are looking for!The organizers are interested in participants from all over the Barents Region; the northern areas of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The course is open to individuals and groups. It is important that they get participants from at least three countries due to grant requirements.
If you are interested do not hesitate to book now! The organizers will pay the course fees but you need to cover your own travel expenses. BarentsUngdom is a course for young people between 12 and 20 years of age. The course runs as part of the North Norwegian folk music festival Kalottspel taking place in Målselv, Troms. Dates: 10th – 13th August 2010
When booking, please state if you want to take part in the dance course or the music course. Dance course: will contain mainly Norwegian dances (e.g. halling) and a few tastes of dances from the other countries represented.
Music course: will focus on ensemble playing, but there will also be tuition for the different instruments. We will provide tutors for violin, song and guitar/bass. In addition there will be joint sessions and social gatherings!
The participants will – at their very own concert – perform what they have learnt. You also get the opportunity to join the festival dance and to attend a concert with some of the great artists at Kalottspel 2010!
