On 15-17 September it is going to be the youth seminar “Barents on my mind“ in Rovaniemi. The seminar will be organised within the framework of the Finnish Chairmanship of the Barents Euro- Arctic Council and in close cooperation with the Centre for International Mobility CIMO (Finland), the City of Rovaniemi and the municipalities of Inari and Ranua, and the Barents Regional Youth Council (BRYC).

 

This seminar will highlight the social inclusion of young people in the society and promote people- to-people contacts in the region. The aim of the seminar is to examine the situation of young people in the Barents region from different perspectives. The main theme social inclusion of young people will be approached by following workshops: employment and entrepreneurship, education, participation and Barents identity, including topics such as access to education and labour market as well as environment and culture.

 

Who may apply:

 

- 18-30 years old;

- active in a youth structure/organisation or in any form of active citizenship in the Barents region;

- with sufficient knowledge of English.

The subsistence and lodging expenses for all participants will be covered by the Finnish Chairmanship for two (2) nights, 15-17 September 2014. Please note that the travel costs of the participants will not be covered by the Finnish Chairmanship.
