Exhange programmes for youth in The Barents Region

There are many programmes that offers opportunities for young people to experience to live abroad as student or volunteer.

The Barents Plus programmes are focusing on contact between educational institutions in the Norwegian and Russian part of the Barents region. The Barents Plus Junior is open for pupils from 16 to 19 years of age and the Barents Plus is for students and teachers on institutions for higher education.

The University of the Arctic's north2north student exchange program provides opportunities for students to experience different northern regions firsthand, and to share experiences face-to-face by allowing students to study at other institutions.

The European commissions YOUTH programme gives opportunities for group exchange and voluntary work in the Barents area and offers good possibilities for Youth exchange projects involving partners in Northwest Russia.

The Nordic Council of Ministers has many mobility programmes and Nordplus gives a lot of possibilities for students and teachers in Nordic countries.
