45 youth from all over the Nordic countries and Russia met 8th -10th of August in Haparanda, Sweden, to learn more on how the climate change will affect the Euro-Arctic Region
“Barents Youth Takes Action”
During the “Willem Barentsz in Vardø” happening, a youth conference was held for Russian and Norwegian youths. A rock concert finished the youth gathering and left the participants with a feeling that the meeting succeeded.
Human Rights in Barents “Yeah Right!”

Barents Regional Youth Council (BRYC) is arranging a stand and workshop under the title “Yeah Right!”. 100 youths from the Barents Region aged 18 - 25 years will participate in the event.
Mission MacRell camp and workshop in Tana

Mission MacRell is an organization with focus on getting functionally disabled children and youths in activity. The summercamp will take place in Tana, Berlevåg and Båtsfjord 8th -27th of July 2008.
Barents Children and Youth Cycling Tour 2008

20-30 youths will be participating in a cycling tour covering the four countries of the Barents Region. A total of 4400 kilometres will be covered in 51 days.
Russian scouts from Apatity on scout camp in Alta.

Alta YWCA-YMCA invites Russian scouts from Alta’s twin city Apatity on the Kola Peninsula to experience a Norwegian scout camp, and thereby strengthen the “people-to-people” cooperation in the Barents Region.
Willem Barentsz in Vardø

On the occasion of the Barents Regions 15 year anniversary, Vardø will raise a bust of Willliam Barentsz. The happening will take place in Vardø 24th to 27th of July, during the Pomorfestival. An international Barentsyouth conference will take place and there will be a rock consert at the end of the happening.
Workshop in traditional music and dance, Kalottspel

Kalottspel is an annual summercamp for youths from the Barents Region, where the participants through dance and music are to improve contact across the borders.
The Nordic Youth Film Festival - NUFF

Young filmmakers aged 15-25 years from all the Barents countries gathers in Tromsø 7th-16th of June to take part in workshops and compete in the Nordic youth film competition for 4 prizes. The program is very colourfull and contains comedies, experimental and very serious stories.
BEN-East Seminar in Murmansk

The EU-financed project “Baltic Euroregional Network - East” arranges a seminar in Murmansk 26th-27th of June. The main focus at the seminar is Models of cross-border cooperation with experience from Baltic Sea Region and Barents Region.
