A fatastic international project is being implemented this summer in Arkhangelsk. Within the project there will be rafting along the Pinega River in the Arkhangelsk region with visits to historical places and local villages located along the river.

The youth cooperation in the Barents region is developing and more succcessful than ever. The Barents Regional Youth Councils work have resulted in several amazing spin offs and the number of youth initiatives within the frames of the Barents Cooperation is increasing.

Opinion Builders and is arranged 1.-4. February 2010 under the title:
Changing Climates: the new political and environmental reality for Northern Communities

The Norwegian Ministry of Children and Equality have increased their funding to multilateral youth cooperation in the Barents region. The funding is now doubled and the Norwegian Barents secretariat can allocate 220 000 Euros to youth projects in the region in 2010.

The Barents Euro Arctic Working Group on Youth Policy (WGYP) have started the process to look into the possibility to merge with the Regional Working Group on Youth Issues(WGYI) and secure more cooperation with the Barents Regional Youth Council (BRYC)

October 23-26 the 1st International MediaCamp for youth will be arranged in Petrozavodsk within the framework of the project “Journalism and information technologies as a resource for NGO development”.

A new and youth adapted project is soon to be implemented. Barents Builders is an education based on distant studies and three workshops. The goal is to let young people in the region learn and experience different methods for development and realization of projects.
