LUB camp 2009

LUB logo_200x134The LUB-camp (Literary camp for youth in Barents) is a creative literary course for youth in the Barents region. The first camp took place in 1997. The participants come from the northern areas in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. This year’s camp will take part in Finland, in the Oulu area, late July/early August.

The LUB-camp (Literary camp for youth in Barents) is a creative literary course for youth in the Barents region. The first camp took place in 1997. This year’s event will take part in Finland and is a camp for young writers that want to increase their skills within creative writing and meet youths with similar interests.

With professional authors the participants gets the opportunity to develop their artistic qualities. At the same time they will take part in the event as a cultural arena for youths in the Barents region with focus on literature form the language areas Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish Russian and Sami. The participants creates network across cultural and geographical borders and gets motivation and inspiration from each other.

The project is a multilateral project and is a cooperation between the regional library in Finnmark, Troms and Nordland in Norway, Västerbotten in Sweden, Rovaniemi city administration in Finland and the regional youth libraries in Arkhangelsk, Karelia and Murmansk.
