This year's festival program is ready; the Nenets people is the Northern people of the year and the Indigenous Youth Gathering is celebrating its 10th anniversary.Angelique Kidjo, Valkyrien Allstars, Ailloš, Englebarn and Altan Uraq are among the hot artists who are ready to entertain you at Riddu Riđđu 2008!
Indigenous Youth from all over the world meet at the Indigenous Youth Gathering (IYG) to learn traditional Mongolian throat singing, yoiking, Nenets handicraft and the traditional Diné dance.
The Nenets people lives in the northwestern part of Siberia and are invited to Riddu Riđđu 2088 as the Northern people of the year. They are one of the three peoples ackonwledged as small-numbered indigenous peoples within the Barents Euro-Arctic Region and they are known for their impressive ornaments, which will be taught in the IYG. Also, the group Mayimbava will perform on different sequences of the festival.
Angelique Kidjo is an international star, visiting Olmmáivággi and Riddu Riđđu 2008. Englebarn is a local rock band, who have been on tour abroad - they are back on the Riddu Riđđu stage this year. Ailloš is a Sámi multiartist and rock star, who released his new album this year.
