School cooperation
The 8th to 11th of May a group of Norwegian pupils visited Murmansk to cooperate with Russian pupils on environmental and cultural issues.The 12 participants from Norway came from ”Saltvern skole”, ”Ballangen skole” and ”Ramsund skole”. They had some interesting and valuable days where they stayed in private homes. They had lectures about the Second World War and about environmental challenges in the north.
They had an extended cultural program with visits to ostrich farm, aquarium and museums. The response from the groups was that they have learned a lot about each other’s culture and everyday life.
This kind of cooperation and joint activities is an important part of the people to people cooperation in the region and task to wake awareness when it comes to environmental issues is valuable.
The project was supported by the Norwegian Barents Secretariat
