The Barents Gathering 2009
Nature and challenge at Sommarøy in Troms invites schoolchildren from Russia and Norway 31. August - 4. September for days of exciting experiences and courses in language, culture and history.The aim of the event is to achieve a popular mobilization for the outdoor life, and to visualize its manifold and the benefits from a social point of view. The Barents Gathering shall contribute to exchange culture, history and languages between the participants. The aim is to form alliances between youths from
Russia and Norway through social and outdoor activities. The Barents Gathering will bring the participants closer to each other and give them a better understanding of each others background.
Nature and Challenge at Sommarøy uses the arrangement to focus on the possibilities of exciting experiences and focus on that the life in the north is a good alternative and can be just as challenging and exciting as the urban life.
