I International Fair of achievements in the field of culture and traditional economic activities of indigenous peoples of the North “TREASURES OF THE SAAMI LAND” will be held in Murmansk.12-13 November at the Ice Sports Palace of Murmansk there will be held I International Fair of achievements in the field of culture and traditional economic activities of indigenous peoples of the North "TREASURES OF THE SAAMI LAND."
The exhibition will bring together representatives of the indigenous Sami people from all over the Kola Peninsula, as well as guests from Norway and Finland.
37 exhibitors will take part in the exhibition. They are Sami reindeer farm communities, institutions of culture and education, folklore groups, artists and masters of folk art.
The program includes a demonstration of processing of traditional products of reindeer herding, project presentations, a "round table" on the conservation and development of the spiritual richness and unique culture of the indigenous Sami people, Sami costume contest, performances of groups and solo artists, master classes by the masters of Sami handicrafts, tasting of traditional Saami fish soup and meeting the reindeers. Special attention will paid to young saami artists and entrepreneurs.
By the Ice Palace Sami tribal community "Puaz" will install and equip kuvaksy - traditional Sami dwelling. The community will also present its best deers at the exhibition. Everyone can benefit from a unique opportunity - to see and take puictures with these amazing northern animals.
The exhibition is open: November 12, from 11:00 to 19:00, 13 November from 10.00 to 16.00. The opening ceremony will be held November 12th at 13.00.
