Youth structures in Barents may unite
The Barents Euro Arctic Working Group on Youth Policy (WGYP) have started the process to look into the possibility to merge with the Regional Working Group on Youth Issues(WGYI) and secure more cooperation with the Barents Regional Youth Council (BRYC)At a meeting in Stockholm the 16th -17th of November the chair of WGYP invited representatives from WGYI, BRYC, The Norwegian Barents Secretariat and The International Barents Secretariat to discuss the future cooperation and possibilities for joint activities and joint work programs.
The meeting concluded that there are a lot to gain by joining forces and cooperate more. The process will continue in Luleå 24th-25th of February where all the representatives in BRYC, WGYI and WGYP will have back to back and joint meetings.
An important item on the agenda at this meeting will be the development of a new Barents Regional Youth Program for the period 2011-2014. The meeting takes place at the same time as the Barents Regional Committee meeting.
